How to change your garage remote battery

Changing the battery in your garage remote is straightforward and requires minimal equipment.

What you’ll need:

  1. a small Philips head screwdriver

  2. a new CR2032 battery

These can be purchased from CXI or most outlets that sell batteries such as Woolworths, Kmart, Bunnings etc.

To change the battery:

  1. Use your small screwdriver to remove the one or two screws located at the top/bottom on the back of the remote.

  2. Remove the back cover gently

  3. Slide out the old battery out with your fingernail or the tip of the screwdriver from it’s metal seat.

  4. Dispose of the old battery safely and immediately (keep it away from children!).

  5. Insert the new battery with the flat side facing up.

  6. Align all the buttons with the rubber insert sections, snap the covers back together, and reinsert the screws.
